But what we do know, we’re going to squeeze every little bit of information out of until we’re given more. In fact, most of the Hangover III talk isn’t about plot as much as it is about money. The wolf-pack, which is comprised of Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, and Ed Helms, have been in talks to earn a paycheck with six zeroes and a double digit number in front of it. $15 million dollars to be specific, a hell of a lot more than the $1 million dollar salary for the first flick, and even the $5 million dollar payout of the second movie.
Todd Philips is already signed to direct, and Hangover II co-writer Craig Mazin is working hard at pumping out the script, which he claims will be different in form from the first two movies. So far, all we know is that it’s set in Los Angeles and that it may or may not involve the wolf pack escaping from a mental institution, but rumors are rumors and they’re everywhere.
Also, despite a 35% Rotten Tomato rating for the sequel, as opposed to a 78% fresh rating for the original, The Hangover II actually made more money than its predecessor, raking in $581 million worldwide, the first film making around $467 million, which equates to over $1 billion dollars in gross. The combined budget for both films? Around $115 million.
The Hangover III is set to have a 2013 Memorial Day release.
